Having Fun in the San Dieguito River Valley

More than 68 miles of trails traverse the River Park, including about 48 miles of the planned 70-mile Coast to Crest Trail. Hikes can range from an easy, mile-long stroll along San Dieguito Lagoon to a heart-pumping trek up Volcan Mountain.

COAST TO CREST TRAIL CHALLENGE

Challenge yourself from Coast to Crest!

 

The Coast to Crest Trail Challenge brings participants to some of the River Park’s most iconic spots to complete five hikes.

 

Lace up those boots, explore the trails and document your accomplishments with five fun selfies along the way.

Complete the challenge to receive a certificate and decal—not to mention bragging rights and rich memories from five excellent adventures!

Now in its eighth year, the C2C challenge is inspired by Mission Trails Regional Park’s 5-Peak Challenge.

YOGA AT THE BIRDWING

Let's flow! Join us on the first and third Sundays of every month for Yoga at the Birdwing. On the first Sunday, yoga sculpt classes blend traditional poses with light hand weights and cardio exercises to blast those muscles and elevate your heart rate. Third Sundays are reserved for traditional Vinyasa flow classes. 

 

Classes start at 10 a.m. and last for an hour. Bring your own mat and water. No registration is required. Classes are free but donations are gratefully accepted.

FURRY FRIENDS HIKES

Our family-friendly, Furry Friends Hikes are designed for adventurous dogs and their owners. Give your dog a chance to explore our trails and meet new, four-legged friends. We ask participants to bring donations of pet food or treats for the Helen Woodward Animal Center.

 

On the scale of difficulty, Furry Friends Hikes range from easy to moderate.

FULL MOON HIKES

Explore the River Park on easy, guided, family-friendly hikes by light of the full moon.
