Introducing Executive Director Crystal Trull

We are so excited Crystal Trull is removing the “interim” from her title as she has accepted the permanent Executive Director role for the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy.

She came aboard as interim ED in October.

“It’s an organization with an amazing reputation,” Crystal said, “and a 40 year history of incredible work.”

In the Conservancy, Crystal says she has found a Board of Directors and staff that are determined to move the organization forward. And ready to do the work.

As Executive Director, Crystal plans to strengthen the organization’s capacity by focusing on its mission and synergistic partnerships watershed-wide.

She came to the Conservancy after more than 25 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector having served as a nonprofit consultant and in leadership and management roles for organizations including the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, Natural High and San Diego Diplomacy Council. As a nonprofit consultant she has supported more than 50 local, national and international nonprofits to fulfill their missions.

Crystal earned a PhD in leadership studies with a focus on nonprofits and philanthropy and a master’s degree in nonprofit management and leadership from the University of San Diego. CrShe is a former lecturer at USD and continues to lecture in nonprofit management UC San Diego.

That’s a lot of talent and experience to advance the Conservancy’s mission, to strengthen conservation, education and recreation programs to benefit both wildlife and people.
