NOTHING INSPIRES ART LIKE NATURE

San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy harnesses that inspiration with programming that gets people creating in the outdoors. Through the years, Art in Nature sessions have explored painting, drawing, crocheting, photography and journaling.

We’re always trying something new.

Our partnerships make Art in Nature is great.

So far, our programs and partners have included:

PHOTOGRAPHY

Experienced photographers from the Torrey Pines High School Photography Environmental Initiative Club lead outings in which participants hone their skills in observation, composition and visual storytelling. You never know who or what might find its way into the frame of an Art in Nature photographer!

JOURNALING

Observations of the landscape flow through eyes, mind and pen and land onto the paper pages in words and sketches. The instructors show that nothing links participants to nature quite link recording their observations on the page facilitating free-flow and quiet contemplation.

WILDLIFE JEWELS

Birds, mammals and reptiles are just some of the jewels of the San Dieguito watershed. Wildlife Jewels is a charity on a mission to protect wildlife. One of its activities is to lead sessions in which participants “paint the jewels” of nature.
