Volunteers for the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy and San Dieguito River Park JPA got the appreciation they deserve during an appreciation party May 19 at the Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead.
The band Prairie Sky furnished a bluegrass soundtrack while the Escondido restaurant Chicken Lisa’s and Your Mexican Favorites covered the catering.
The well-fed and well-serenaded attendees moved on to a presentation of awards that focused upon the importance of volunteers to accomplish a collective mission.
Leading the awards presentations were San Diego City Councilman Joe LaCava, San Dieguito River Park JPA Executive Director Shawna Anderson and San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy Executive Director Cheryl Goddard.
