Join the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy and nature experts for a data-gathering group hike from 9 a.m. to noon April 24 in San Pasqual Valley.
Meet for the “BioBlitz” at the Ysabel Creek Road Staging Area, 16414 Ysabel Creek Road, Escondido.
Participants are encouraged to download iNaturalist, an app for nature lovers to record, share and discuss their observations. Using the app, we will submit our findings as part of the City Nature Challenge, a global effort to document biodiversity.
Our corps of citizen scientists will be in good company. Resource Ecologist Jonathan Appelbaum and the Conservancy’s go-to herpetologist, Jeff Nordland of the Southwestern Field Herping Association, will join staff members to lead the outing.
