| Land or Easements
For those who wish to make a lasting and substantial contribution to securing the 55-mile Coast-to-Crest Trail and the San Dieguito River Park for generations to come, may consider donating land or an easement to The Conservancy.
Donating land or easements provide the following benefits:
- Donor is eligible for market-value income tax-deduction without capital gains or estate taxes on property with conservation value.
The Conservancy will apply the irrevocable conservation easement to the property.
- The Conservancy will accept and sell residential and commercial property without conservation value using the proceeds for land protection.
- Donation of real estate is eligible for income tax-deductions for full market value for properties owned more than 1-year and with no
capital gains taxation and removal from estate taxation.
- Donating a conservation easement on property maintains your ownership and private use of the land, while conserving the property’s
resources in perpetuity.
- Donation of conservation easements are eligible for income, property and estate tax benefits associated with the reduction in the
properties market value resulting from the placement of perpetual use restrictions on the land.
If you are interested in donating land or an easement to The Conservancy, please call the office at
(858) 755-6956, and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
