Membership

The San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy:

  • Helped plan and obtain funding for the $86 million restoration of the San Dieguito Lagoon in Del Mar, underway along I-5

  • Mobilized donations to complete 12 miles of the Coast-to-Crest Trail, from Boden Canyon to Lake Sutherland

  • Raised $350,000 in donations and obtained an $800,000 state grant to purchase 353 acres east of Lake Sutherland

  • Purchased 240 acres, preventing development of private holdings within the public lands surrounding Lake Sutherland

  • Saved the landmark Bernardo Mountain, west of the I-15 bridge on the northern shore of Lake Hodges, raising $650,000 in local donations, plus grants, to purchase land slated for development

  • Mobilized volunteers to remove invasive plants and restore coastal sage habitat in Del Mar’s Crest Canyon

  • Provided leadership in completing the San Dieguito Watershed Plan, the blueprint for funding and action to improve water quality and protect natural areas for people and wildlife in San Diego

Your membership contributions allow the Conservancy to move quickly to secure land from willing sellers and to attract public grants for land purchases, trail improvements, and the long-term maintenance of San Dieguito River Park resources.
