San Diego Wildlife, Climate Change, and You! Curriculum
By assessing regional climate impact data taken from the San Diego Ecosystems Assessment, students will become scientists and explore climate change impacts to four different species of concern along the watershed.
While participating in the Climate Kids activities of art, science, and storytelling, students will gain an understanding of who pollinators are, their important role in our lives, how they will be affected by a changing climate and increased human activity, and what we can do to help them.
Led by the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy, students learn about the importance of Lake Hodges and the surrounding area to local wildlife and overall watershed vitality and health.
Led by the San Dieguito River Park, students learn what it was like to be a pioneering family in San Diego and the importance of the natural environment in daily living.
Led by the Volcan Mountain Foundation, students travel through mature conifer and oak forest to take a guided hike to the top of the Sky Island Trail where they observe the San Dieguito Watershed from a mile above sea level.
