Craig Adams Executive Director
Craig Adams became the Conservancy's first Executive Director in 2001. Prior to joining the Conservancy, Craig served as a policy aide to former Councilmember and California Coastal Commissioner, currently State Senator, Christine Kehoe, and as a policy aide to former City of San Diego Mayor, Susan Golding. He also served as Chapter Coordinator for the San Diego and Imperial County Sierra Club. In addition to his work with the Conservancy, Craig currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Conservation Resources Network (CRN), a group of 25 conservancy-type organizations in San Diego County, and is a member of the Regional Advisory Committee leading the development of an Integrated Water Management Plan for San Diego County.

Craig has a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a joint Planning and Metropolitan Studies Masters Degree from Syracuse University. Before moving to San Diego 21 years ago, he served on the staff of four Wisconsin Governors in the State Planning and Budget Offices.

Leslie Woollenweber Resources Specialist
Working with the Conservancy is a big change for Leslie, who received an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from UCSD and later went on to work in the biotech industry. In 1999, Leslie received an MBA from SDSU, which prompted her to consider a professional career in the environmental field. Leslie began volunteering for the River Park in 2002, which sparked an interest in learning how the Conservancy helps the Park achieve its goal of preservation through land acquisition. Now she is excited to be a part of the staff and to meet members on guided hikes, cheer on volunteers and help make it all happen. In her free time, Leslie enjoys golf, nature photography, classic literature and spending time with her rescued senior dog, Bella.

Sarah Hurd Program Specialist

Originally from Washington State, Sarah has called San Diego her home for over 8 years. Since her arrival, she has been and continues to be involved in many ground-breaking organizations and projects including the San Diego County Women's Hall of Fame (Founding Member), Shakti Rising, League of Women Voters of San Diego (Past-President), Women's History Museum & Educational Center, and the San Diego Cinco de May con Ogrullo Coalition (Founding Member). Sarah brings her strong leadership, community to outreach and organizational development skills to the Conservancy. In her free time, she enjoys singing with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir, writing and performing music and poetry.
